Scientific Basis and Societal Role of Race in the Modern World

The notion of “race” is a common, widespread idea that has important scientific and societal impacts. I present the various definitions of race and explain the importance and impact of the idea. I then give an overview of the current research into the genetic diversity of humans. Finally, I present current research into what determines traits we care about, such as physical appearance, intelligence, and personality.
